Professional experience
She has been practicing since 1991. She is a partner of the firm and leads the Department of Commerce, which includes the areas of intellectual property, health regulatory affairs, competition, consumer protection and advertising, and attention to commercial matters for clients in the industry area (transport and logistics, agency , representation and distribution, franchises and licensing, among others).
She represents both national and foreign clients in the registration and defense of their intellectual property rights before the General Directorate of the Industrial Property Registry of Panama, and before the courts of law specialized in this matter. Likewise, she coordinates the registration and protection of intellectual property trademarks for our clients throughout the region to facilitate the intermediation process.
She has extensive experience in advising clients in the health regulatory area, who require the regularization and maintenance of all permits, registrations and authorizations for the operation of their businesses and marketing of their products, including legal guidance in the import or nationalization process of products. These procedures involve the processing of licenses or health registrations for all types of products for their production, distribution and/or marketing in the territory of Panama, such as beverages, food, cosmetic and personal hygiene products, household cleaning and cleaning products, veterinary products, raw materials, medical supplies, medicines and biological products before the corresponding health authorities, including requests for therapeutic equivalence.
She represents and advises our clients in the industrial sector, which includes advice on contracts, permits, licenses regarding advertising and labeling compliance for pharmaceutical products, cosmetics, medical supplies, food and beverages, as well as obtaining authorizations from the Advertising and Propaganda Commission of the General Directorate of Health for the approval of advertising.
She actively participates in forums and negotiations with the public health administration to propose improvements to processes and requirements in the health regulatory area of cosmetics, medicines, food and beverages.
